MVP Staff Award | Internal – Radiation Oncology
recognizes dedicated and talented staff who fulfill our mission to remain one
of the best academic radiation oncology programs in the country and are
committed to superb patient care complimented by excellence in research, teaching

Academy of Distinguished Scholars | Reward excellent educators and
involve them in enhancing the learning environment. Selection is based on
merit. Recipients are inducted for lifetime as Academy members and serve on
an advisory board to the Associate Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs
for three years.Faculty members inducted into the Academy receive $3,000 per
year (total of $9,000 over 3 years) to be used for the purchase of equipment,
travel to conferences or for professional development, books, graduate

Doctoral Mentoring Awards | Encourages and rewards
excellence, innovation and effectiveness in mentoring doctoral and Master of
Fine Arts students through their final dissertation or fine arts thesis
project. Nominations for the award come from current graduate students,
graduate alumni, faculty members, graduate coordinators, department chairs,
school directors, college deans and higher-level administrators. Each year,
the award gives $3,000 to approximately five faculty members, with an
additional $1,000 deposited into each winner’s department account for use in

UF Teacher/Scholar | Since 1960, this is UF’s most
prestigious and oldest faculty award. Offers an honorarium of $6,000 in
addition to other appropriate recognition, such as the automatic induction to
UF’s Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars (ADTS). Current faculty members are eligible for
consideration; selected faculty member will receive in addition an SEC

Professorships | Each three-year Professorship
includes: $5,000 annual salary supplement and $3,000 grant to support
research, awarded in year one of the three-year tenure. Professorships open
to full-time Associate, Full, and Distinguished Professors who are tenured at
the time of the award and who have been on the UF faculty for at least 5
years (as of May 1 in the year of nomination). Part-time Professors not

Faculty Enhancement Opportunity | Creative and flexible faculty
development activities, including, but not limited to: educational
experiences/conferences, work with consultants/experts, time devoted to
intensive writing or creative work or activities in support of a new
direction for one’s scholarly work. FEO’s are available to all full-time
faculty in the Health Sciences, IFAS and the College of Law, and other

Excellence Award for Assistant Professors | “Excellence Awards” for
Assistant Professors or Assistant Curators is a one-time allocation of $5,000
in support of research. The award can be used to fund travel, equipment,
books, graduate student stipends, and other research-related expenses. It may
not be used as salary. College of Medicine dean allotted 2 nominations.
Nominees must currently hold the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor or
Assistant Curator. Nominees may NOT be in the final year of their
tenure-probationary period, nor currently under evaluation for tenure. An

Exemplary Teacher Award | To recognize outstanding
performance in teaching, an incentive may be available from the COM Office of
the Dean for a select number of educators. Eligible faculty will be nominated
from each department and participate in a college-wide competition to receive
an incentive. Faculty are selected based on the excellence of their teaching
of medical students, residents and fellows, graduate students, post-docs, and

University Term Professorships | University makes available to
the colleges 250 Term Professorships. Each award runs for 3 years and
provides a $5,000/year salary supplement to the awardee. Tenure track
Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors and Assistant, Associate, and Full
Curators in the fifth year (or more) of full-time service in the tenure-track
title at UF are eligible for an award. The Provost’s Office apportions
University Term Professorships to the colleges according to the number of
eligible faculty in the college. In selecting awardees, faculty advisory
committees and/or department or school chairs/directors should provide input,
and the dean makes the final determination. Awards should be based on an
assessment of academic accomplishment. Consequently, the dean may request
faculty to submit dossiers explaining recent meritorious achievements and
should specify a required format for dossiers, if they are used in the
process. Awards should be determined no later than the spring semester so
