Residency Candidates to be Welcomed during December Interviews

The Alan H. Porter, M.D., & Claudia B. Porter, R.N., Department of Radiation Oncology will welcome fourth-year medical students to Gainesville on December 4 and December 11, 2026, for in-person interviews as part of the selection process for our Residency Programs.

The interviews provide an opportunity to learn more about the department, meet faculty and current residents, explore our clinical and educational environment, and gain a firsthand perspective on residency training at UF.

Our three-month clinical rotations offer experience in head and neck, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecologic, thoracic, central nervous system and breast cancers. Residents also receive specialized training in advanced radiation treatment techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and brachytherapy.

Distinctive components of the physician residency program are pediatric and adult proton therapy rotations at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville, a brachytherapy rotation at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, and opportunities for mentored clinical and translational research.

We look forward to meeting this year’s candidates! For more information, contact residency program coordinator Nora Martin, marnor@shands.ufl.edu.
