Dr. Guanghua Yan has been promoted to professor of the Porter Department of Radiation Oncology.

This milestone honors more than a decade of exceptional clinical service, scholarly achievement, and dedication to patient safety. He was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor in 2017.

His leadership in this area has strengthened the department’s culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Dr. Yan’s research focuses on two areas: motion management in radiation therapy and clinical informatics. His work addresses some of the most demanding technical challenges in delivering precise radiation doses to tumors and applying systematic, evidence-based analysis to improve patient experience and treatment outcomes.

Beyond his research and safety leadership, Dr. Yan has served as a committed teacher and mentor throughout his tenure. He has contributed to the education of medical physics residents and graduate students, helping to shape the next generation of practitioners who will carry this discipline forward.

Congratulations, Dr. Yan, on this well-deserved recognition!
