On April 2, the UF College of Medicine recognized the achievements of educators, trainees, and faculty at its Celebration of Excellence in Medical Education, and new members were inducted into the Society of Teaching Scholars, which works to strengthen the college’s educational mission and mentor junior faculty.

Selected by program directors and sponsored by the society, Dani Martir, MD (shown left, with Dr. Patrick Maher, Department of Pathology), was named a recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Resident Educator Award, recognizing her excellence in teaching both colleagues and medical students.
The Society of Teaching Scholars is dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching and educational scholarship at the University of Florida College of Medicine. It recognizes faculty committed to training future physicians and scientists, supports professional development in education, and provides a network of experienced educators who advise the college and serve as mentors and role models for faculty, residents, and students.
Congratulations, Dr. Martir!
