Associate Professor Guanghua Yan, PhD (right), has been appointed Physicist Director of Quality and Patient Safety for the Department of Radiation Oncology, a first for UF Health.
In his new role, Dr. Yan will act as a quality and patient safety champion for the department, promoting a culture of teamwork and commitment to developing and improving clinical practices.
Dr. Yan will support the combined UF Health and UF College of Medicine goal of delivering the highest standard of safe, efficient, effective, equitable and patient-centered care. He will work collaboratively with the UF Health Sebastian Ferrero Office of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety to harmonize institutional quality improvement goals with departmental quality and safety projects and initiatives.
“Dr. Yan brings many years of experience and study to the position, and has long been a key member of our Quality team,” said Kathryn Hitchcock, M.D., Ph.D., interim chair of the department.
