Pink Pumpkin Challenge 2024

This October, the Department of Radiation Oncology is recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its annual UF competition.

UF Health Shands employees and UF College of Medicine faculty, staff, residents, and students – as individuals or teams – are invited to submit their best pink pumpkins for judging, dressing them up in sparkles, sequins, lace, inspirational messages and drawings.

Patients and employees alike will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin daily October 28-31, 2024. The winner will receive the coveted People’s Choice award and $20 Publix gift card. Pumpkins will be displayed October 30-31 in the UF Health Radiation Oncology – Davis Cancer Pavilion reception area, 1535 Gale Lemerand Dr, Gainesville.

Official Judging and a bake sale benefiting the American Cancer Society will be Tuesday, October 29, at 2:00 p.m. The 2024 guest judges include Interim UF President Kent Fuchs and his wife Linda, along with Kelly Batista, Executive Administrator of Cancer Services for UF Health.
