Dr. Luke Maloney Appointed Associate Program Director of the UF Radiation Oncology Physics Residency Program

Guanghua Yan, Ph.D., UF Radiation Oncology Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Medical Physics Residency Program, has announced the appointment of Luke Maloney, PhD as Associate Program Director.

Dr. Maloney (right) obtained his Ph.D. in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 2020 and completed his medical physics residency training here at the University of Florida in 2022. Board certified in 2023, Dr. Maloney brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to resident education.

Since joining the department’s medical physics team, Dr. Maloney has made significant contributions to the program, dedicating substantial time to working closely with its residents. He is actively involved in two major resident rotations, where he has consistently demonstrated his dedication to advancing the educational experience of our trainees.

“We are confident that Luke’s leadership will continue to strengthen our residency program and support the growth and development of our future physicists,” said Dr. Yan.
