Dr. Kate Hitchcock Joins National Committee to Diversify Leaders in Research

Dr. Kate HitchcockKathryn E. Hitchcock, MD, PhD was recently appointed to a National Clinical Trials Network committee tasked with improving diversity and inclusion efforts for national leaders in oncology research.

NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) comprises organizations and clinicians that coordinate and support cancer clinical trials at more than 2,200 sites across the United States, Canada, and internationally. NCTN provides the infrastructure for NCI-funded treatment and primary advanced imaging trials to improve the lives of people with cancer.

NCTN’s current leadership is not reflective of the makeup of the U.S. population, and the committee Hitchcock is part of plans to implement suggestions and changes that would promote diversity and inclusion in these roles.
