Alexandra De Leo, M.D. Is Named a 2022 College of Medicine Outstanding Resident Educator

Dr. Alexandra De LeoAnnounced March 22, 2022, Alexandra De Leo, M.D. (shown right), has been named a recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Resident Educator Award by the Society of Teaching Scholars.

This award recognizes Dr. De Leo’s excellence in teaching colleagues and medical students.

Designated by program directors, and sponsored by the Society of Teaching Scholars, the Outstanding Resident Educator Awards was presented at this month’s Medical Education Week Reception.

The goal of The Society of Teaching Scholars is to honor and foster teaching and educational scholarship at the University of Florida College of Medicine. The society aims to provide a forum to recognize and reward faculty who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to the formation of physicians and scientists; provide an incentive for the faculty member’s professional development as an educational scholar and role model; identify a cadre of recognized experts to advise the college on ways to enhance its educational mission, as well as to serve as mentors/role models to junior faculty, residents, and students; and demonstrate the college’s commitment to high quality teaching and learning.
