UFHPTI Announces New Director of Physics

Dr. Perry Johnson is the new UFHPTI Director of PhysicsThe University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI) announced the conclusion of its national search for a Director of Physics on June 14, 2021. Perry Johnson, Ph.D., who previously served as interim director, has been selected as permanent UFHPTI Director of Physics.

Dr. Johnson (right) will manage and oversee UFHPTI medical physicists and associated staff and will contribute to UFHPTI strategic planning, partnership building, and the cultivation of new research initiatives.

Dr. Johnson, an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida, has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles and serves as a reviewer for several journals and conferences. With patient safety as a primary research interest, he is also a member of a number of institutional and national committees related to error prevention.
