Radiation Oncology Receives Philips CT Simulator

Philips CT Big Bore.Because image quality is such a critical element in accurate contouring and treatment plans, Radiation Oncology is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Philips CT Big Bore, which is slated to begin operation this summer.

The CT Big Bore focuses on accuracy, patient positioning, imaging performance, and workflow. The device features 60 cm true scan FOV for full anatomic visualization. It provides spatial positioning accuracy of less than 2mm between the imaging plane and the laser marking plane for confidence in patient marking. The TumorLOC application offers virtual simulation directly from the scanner console and a Pulmonary Toolkit will also assist UF Radiation Oncologists in evaluating tumor motion.

The Philips CT Big Bore will be housed within the Davis Cancer Center, part of the University of Florida Medical Plaza, Gainesville.
