Odedina to Speak at International Cancer Conference
Folakemi T. Odedina, Ph.D., a professor of pharmaceutical outcomes and policy in the College of Pharmacy, and director of community outreach and minority affairs for the Prostate Disease Center, has been invited to serve as a guest speaker and member of an international committee aimed at fostering sustainable development, science and technology cooperation between the 57 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the USA. The congress is part of the USA-Muslim World Science & Technology Convergence Summit which is organized by a consortium of Moroccan and international universities as well as public and private partners in Marrakesh-Morocco May 23 – 27, 2012. It will be attended by more than 5,000 high level research scientists, academics and technology suppliers as well as by mayors, presidents of local councils and regions, ministers, investors and NGOs. The main objective of the initiative is to establish an annual platform to coordinate existing outreach programs and to stimulate decentralized cooperation between universities, laboratories, enterprises, cities, counties, and regions.
